Sammy Junior Cook, 78, of Jumping Branch, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.
Born October 17, 1939 at Clorrie, WV he was a son of the late James Ervin and Demia Lou Dixon Cook.
Sammy was a former manager of apartment complexes who enjoyed playing bingo and cards and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Lee Cook; two brothers, James Cook and Pete Cook and three sisters, Betty Ballard, Midge Kirk and Alice Waycaster.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Angela Goins of Beckley; one son, Wesley Fisher of Beckley; two granddaughters, Regina Goins and Ashley Fisher both of Beckley; one great granddaughter, Amiah Goins of Beckley; one sister, Shirley Flaim of Corrine Bottom; one stepson Don Vaughn of Hinton, one stepdaughter, Patricia Yearego of Beckley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Darrell Thorton officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral parlors. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
