Irvin Morgan

Irvin Joshua “Josh” Morgan, 84, of Sandstone passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.

Born October 14, 1936 at Acme, WV he was a son of the late Vivian and Grace Castle Morgan.

Josh graduated from East Bank High School class of 1954 and began his thirty-five-year career with the General Motors Corporation, Flint Michigan in 1956. He traveled for General Motors as a Quality Service Representative. On February 16, 1956 Josh married the ‘love of his life,’ Wilma Darby Morgan. He missed his 65 ^th wedding anniversary by 10 days.

In addition to his parents, Josh was preceded in death by one brother, Periece Morgan; one sister, Elizabeth Slater and son-in-law, Richard Nearing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Wilma Darby Morgan; three children, J. Alan Morgan, Darby Nearing and Brian (Andrea) Morgan; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Don) Amaya, Richard (Rose) Nearing and Katie (Spencer) Miller; four great grandchildren, Donny and Aiden Amaya, Ethan Dean and Noah Miller; one sister, Kathryn (Elsworth) Buck; one brother, Richard (Donetta) Morgan.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Michigan. The family would like to extend thanks to Char and Wayne Bennett and Jim and Myrna Adkins.
