Aretha Ward

Aretha Ann Ward, 68, of Pipestem entered into eternal rest Friday, March 1, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital.

Born April 16, 1944 in Summers County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Benton and Hattie Faye Bragg Jolliffe.

She dearly loved her family and was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing and flower gardening.

Aretha was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frazier Ward; one daughter, Teresa Ann Ward; two brothers, Thomas Edward ?Bow? Jolliffe and Joseph Leroy Jolliffe; two sisters, Helen Faye Ayers and Ida Mae Jolliffe; two nieces Regina Jordan and Tina Jolliffe and one nephew, Thomas Jolliffe.

Those left to cherish her memory include her partner, Oakley R. ?Buck? Bennett Jr. of Pipestem; one daughter, Lula Faye Motherway and husband Patrick of Rhode Island; one son, Charles Randy Ward and wife Maritza of Virginia; four grandchildren, Jessica, Patrick, Abraham and Matthew; one brother, Billy Ray Jolliffe of Hinton and one nephew, Rodney Ray Jolliffe of Grafton.

Private services will be held at a later date.



Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
