Wilma Plumley

Wilma Shirey Plumley 80, of Hinton left this earth to be with the Lord on March 15, 2016.
She was born February 20, 1936 in Hinton, WV.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Ralph Shirey of Hinton and Lillian Shirey Whitlow of Peterstown, two brothers Eddie Shirey of Peterstown and Bill Shirey of Biloxi, Mississippi. Wilma was also preceded in death by her ex-husband, Tom Plumley of Hinton.
Left to cherish her memory are her twin sons, Tom Plumley of Hinton, along with his children Matthew and Jillian and Tim Plumley of Jacksonville NC, along with his wife Pamela Davis Plumley and their son Jarrod. Wilma is also survived by her three loving sisters, Rosalie Hartsell of Newport News, Virginia, Betty Burgess of Meadow Lane WV, and Sandra Pack of Nimitz. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilma worked in several different job fields ranging from a telephone operator, bank teller, a book keeper, to that of a Deputy Sherriff. Wilma most enjoyed her time working at the Summers County Courthouse in the Sherriff's Tax office. She thoroughly enjoyed working there which enabled her to socialize with the wonderful people of Summers County. Life would lead Wilma to journey along a different path; however, she returned to finish her career at the courthouse, this time in the Assessors office.
After retiring Wilma enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing many of her wonderful recipes. She especially looked forward to the holiday seasons. This was when family members gathered at home to enjoy each other's company accompanied with Wilma's delicious meals.
Wilma was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Throughout the years she served in several different positions, always diligent in her roles and remaining a proud member of the Eastern Star.
Wilma was a resident of the Summers County Continuous Care Center for the last portion of her wonderful life. She and her family were very fond of the employees that cared for her; making these last years easier.
Friends and family are invited to attend Wilma's funeral which will be held at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton, WV. Family will gather to remember Wilma and celebrate her life from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home on Friday, March 18, 2016 with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. Burial will follow at the Lilly/Crews Cemetery in Nimitz, WV.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
