William Lee “Jack” Smith, 76, of Forest Hill went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 19, 2026 in the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
Born May 10, 1949 in Hinton he was a son of the late William Cecil “Ted” and Gladys Elizabeth Canterbury Smith.
Jack was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of the Army National Guard. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the US Army Corp of Engineers. A professional photographer, he was an avid trapper, a fisherman and hunter and a woodworker for JC Penny catalog products.
Those left to cherish his memory include three daughters, Christine Hughes and husband Martin, Catherine Allen and husband Josh and Tara Villanueva and wife Kristine; one step daughter, Sunday Pelligrino; one step son, Cody Heck; seven grandchildren, William Hughes and wife Lillian, Abilgail Hughes, Cameron Allen, Wesley Allen, Alexis Maxine Canales, Eliana Ariel Canales, Isbella Lee Canales; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and one sister, Judith Dolphin and husband Ed.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ed Dolphin officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Josh Allen, Martin Hughes, Marc Dolphin, Steve Reynolds, Josh Shrewsbury, Wayne Dillon and Tony Scardigna.
