Steven Massey

Mr. Steven Dewayne Massey, 56, of Hix, entered the Kingdom of God at 1:16 P.M. Wednesday at his home, following a long illness.Born November 17, 1947 at Hinton, he was a son of Ralph Omer Williams of Hinton and Naomi Wanda Massey of Hilldale.Steve was a member of local union 132 International Union of Operating Engineers, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, an army veteran during the Viet Nam Conflict and a former member of the Summers Co. National Guard Unit.Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Rose Cady Massey at home, two sons, Mickel Dewayne Massey and wife Patty of Front Royal, VA and Roger Lynn Massey of Hinton, two daughters, Priscilla Ann Blankenship and husband Travis of Peterstown and Jackie Bryant of Charlottesville, VA, eight grandchildren, Michael, Josh, Cory, Heather, Chad, McKinzia, Cara and Stephanie, one great granddaughter, Madline, two sisters, Delores Adkins and husband Hubert of Hilldale and Patricia Patrick and husband Tom of Hinton, one brother, Wayne Williams of Hilldale and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Lawrence Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-8 P.M. Friday.Honorary Pallbearers will be; Mike Massey, Roger Masssey, Christopher Gray, Curtis Gray, Wayne Williams and Thomas Patrick. Pallbearers will be; Anthony Gray, Christopher and Jonathan Smith, James Williams, Blaine Mawyer and Travis Blankenship.
