Stephen Floyd Cales

     Stephen Floyd Cales, 54, of Hilldale went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.

     Born November 29, 1968 at Ronceverte he was a son of Billy Jack Sr. and Karen Buckland Cales of Hilldale.

     Stephen attended Lifeline Church in Hinton where he was a volunteer for Operation Compassion as well as other church activities.  Stephen enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

     He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Jack Cales Jr.; maternal grandparents, Orville and Virginia Ellen Buckland and paternal grandparents, James Harlow and Carrie Elizabeth Fox Cales.

     Besides his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Almey Cozort Cales; two daughters, Samantha Cales Plumley and husband Brandon and Brittany Cales Ward and husband Seth; three grandchildren, Mason, Kennedi and Adalynn; one sister, Carmen Cales; nephews and niece, Brody, B.J. and Mikayla Cales; many additional nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly and his beloved canine, Meeko.

     At Stephen’s request there will be no services at this time and his body will be cremated.
