Shelby Jean Warden

Shelby Jean Warden, 87, of Nimitz passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at Greystone Village in Beaver following a long illness.

Born September 7, 1938 at Sand Knob, WV she was a daughter of the late Charles Wilson Lilly and Dessie Hamm Lilly and stepdaughter of Orah Hamm Lilly.

Shelby was a member of the Bluestone Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening and was a faithful servant who was always working in her church and willing to lend a hand to help others. Shelby had lived in Chicago, IL for 21 years, Bethlehem, PA for 12 years and Nimitz, WV for 32 years prior to her passing.

In addition to her parents and stepmother she was preceded in death by six sisters, Faye Hamm, Jackie Brumit, Lorene Tyree, Virginia Wills, Mae Hurt and Mildred Messer and six brothers, Charles Lilly, Pastor Phillip Lilly, Donald Hamm, Pastor Darrell Hamm, Van Hamm and Mack Hamm.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Gerald Warden; one daughter, Sheila Kaczynski and husband David; three grandchildren, Kelsey Miles and husband Nathan, Kyle Kaczynski and Kollin Berski and wife Emmi; one step grandchild, Kimberly Allison and husband Andrew; two great grandchildren, Rainer and Hal Kaczynski; two step great grandchildren, Memphis and Hadley Allison; four siblings, Geraldine Meadows, Billy Lilly and wife Gwen, Myrtle Harvey and Frank Hamm and wife Ruby; three sisters in law, Gloria Lilly, Velma Lilly and Rhodetta Jones Hamm and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be noon on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Bluestone Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Winkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at the church on Friday. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
