Shawn Jay Richmond 46 Hinton Passed from this life into the beautiful hands of God on Feb 9th 2026. Shawn was a skilled carpenter who was taught by his dad and uncles at an early age. He loved gardening and was proud of his hot pepper and weenie recipe! Shawn also loved hunting and fishing but he really enjoyed ginseng, ramp, and mugging hunting.
Those waiting to welcome him are his mother and father Homer and Mattie Richmond and Danny “Rookie” Richmond and Roberta Gross, Grandparents Eugene Adkins and Robert Bennett, his brothers Jeddy Richmond, Gary Richmond and Scotty Joe Richmond one sister Judy Marcayiannkis, an aunt Tracy Sawyer, cousins Gary Nelson Richmond and Sarah Sawyer, a nephew Aiden Alexander Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his girlfriend Autumn Buckland with whom he made his home one son Sean Jacob Richmond and wife Cassidy. Daughter Catlin Richmond. He was a proud Papaw to his grandchildren August and Hadley Richmond and step grandchild, Paisley. A step daughter Anna Grace Bennett who he loved like his own.
Other survivors include Sisters,Jamie Stalnaker, Hope Earhart, Shirley Wallace, Shirley Richmond Joyce “Cookie” Richmond, a brother Eddie Richmond. aunts Karen Richmond, Glenna Cook and Wendy Richmond one uncle Robert Bennett
Shawn was raised at his Mountain home with his double first cousins who he considered siblings Felisha Hartwell, Samantha Wills, Kristie Richmond, Alexis Lester, Ethan and Amira Richmond. Shawn is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Mamie Adkins, lovingly known as “Ninnie”.
Shawn had many loved ones nieces and nephews, and cousins that will miss him. He also had wonderful lifelong friends Steven Brown, Timmy Ward, Andy and Dougie Ward.
Shawn remained friends with his first wife and the mother of his children, Patricia Richmond.
A celebration of life will be on Chestnut Mountain which was Shawn’s childhood home and he will be buried in the Richmond-McKeown Cemetery on Chestnut Mountain. There isn’t a date set for the service at this time.
Shawn will be missed by all that knew him and loved him.
