Russell Lee Bennett, 40, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.
Born June 30, 1975 at Hinton, he was a son of the late Gary Richmond and Wilma Lee Bennett Angell.
He attended Maple Fork Baptist Church, was a former employee of Les's Painting in Hinton and Hico in Christiansburg Virginia; he enjoyed fishing, outdoors, was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan, and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his step father Billy Angell and uncle Russell "Shorty" Bennett.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 11 years; Susan R. Bennett of Pipestem; children, Tucker Cales, Kasper Bennett and Micah Bennett all of Pipestem; his special grandmother whom raised him, Mildred Bennett of Hinton; one grandson, Braxton David Gill; one brother, B.J. Angell and wife Staci of Georgia; one sister, Shannon N. Reynolds and husband Marshall of Virginia; four half-sisters, Felicia Hartwell, Samantha Wills, Lexi Richmond and Kristi Richmond.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Cemetery at Gravely Point. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
