Ronald G. Vest, 86, of Hinton, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Summers County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Hilldale following a long illness.
Born December 21, 1926 at Summers County he was a son of the late Green Hamilton and Roxie Bennett Vest.
Ronald was a member of the First Christian Church in Hinton where he served as an Elder. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a retired Conductor for C&O after 40 plus years of services, retiring in 1984. He was a loving father, grandfather and an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Kessler Vest on September 24, 2002; one son, Larry Vest in August of 2009; six brothers, Bryn, Atle, Dewey, Bob, Frank and Charles; seven sisters, Bessie, Dela, Eblyn, Flora, Orva, Thelma and Ethel.
Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Ronald Vest and wife Becky of Prince George, VA, Gary Vest and wife Debby of Gratis, OH, David Carson and wife Andrea of Trenton, OH and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Minister Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
