Roger Dale ?Joe? Wood, 50, of Concord, NC, formerly of Hinton, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 2:00 a.m., at his home, following a long illness.Born August 30, 1953 at Hinton, he was a son of the late William Dallas and Pauline Elizabeth Bragg Wood Jr.lJoe had lived the early part of his life in Hinton and attended Hinton High School. He worked as a Drill Blast Foreman for Sanders Constructors Co., of Belmont, NC as long as health permitted.Preceded in death by an infant sister, Vickie WoodSurvived by two sons, Roger Lee Wood and wife Angie and Christopher Dale Wood and wife Lesia all of Concord, NC, former wife, Carolyn Fuller Wood of Concord, and he was the proud grandfather of Vicky, Alex, Sarah, and Makinna Wood. Also surviving, four sisters; Brenda Hodge of Forest Hill, WV, Judy Lytle of Hinton, Shirley Perdue of Rock Hill, SC and Anita Adkins of Concord, NC, one niece and five nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton, WV with Harry Pilkington officiating. Burial will follow in the Bragg Family Cemetery at Sandstone, WV. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from Noon until funeral time on Thursday.
