Robert Whitt

Robert Douglas “Doug” Whitt, 68, of Hix went home to be with the Lord Friday October 16, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center following a long illness.

Born July 4, 1952 in Greenbrier County he was the son of the late Olbert and Beulah Cornwell Whitt.  A disabled employee of Vepco Power Co., member of the Ramp Holiness Church.  Doug enjoyed farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife Drema G. Ward Whitt; one grandson, Dakota Cales and two brothers, Doyle and Donnie Whitt.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Tiffany Cales and husband Casey of Hix; two sons, Kevin Whitt of Alderson and Ryan Whitt and wife Erica of Sinking Creek; eight grandchildren, Makayla, Jordan, Nevaeh, Kasey, Brinleigh, Lindsey, Sara and Austin; three brothers, Danny Whitt and wife Vickie of Lewisburg, Dale Whitt and wife Debbie of White Sulphur Springs and Duane Whitt and wife Missy of Lewisburg; five sisters, Danita Moore and husband Dave, Danetta Whitt, Deanna Whitt, Dona Lilly and husband Paul and Donna Shortridge and husband James all of Lewisburg.

For the safety of the community and the family a graveside service and burial will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday October 21, 2020 at the Whitt and Cales Cemetery on Ward Bench Road at Hix for family members with Minister Patricia Cales officiating.  Family are asked to meet at the cemetery from 11:00 am until service time.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
