On April 8, 2015 our beloved husband, father and grandfather Richard Roland Davis passed away following a long illness.
He was born in 1928 to the late Larken Edward and Mary Emma Meadows Davis at Daniels, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Telick Thomas, Harold Anthony "John" and Buster Ray Davis and his sister, Quindora Davis Lester.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Marian Chandler Davis of Hinton; three daughters, Charlotte Davis of Hinton, Pamela Davis of Frankford and Kimberly Davis Hurst and husband Jeff of Frankfort, KY; granddaughter, Graceyn Emre Hurst of Frankfort, KY; sister, Janette Davis Jenkins and husband Bill of Daniels; sister-in-law, Merlene Davis of Chesapeake, VA and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Shady Spring High School, Veteran of the United States Army having proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict where he served for 3 years and he worked for 38 years as an engineer for CSX Railroad until his retirement.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday April 12, 2015 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Chris Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until service time on Sunday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the charity of ones choice.
