Reginald Arthur Bower Jr.

            Reginald Arthur Bower Jr., 78, of Lewisburg passed away as the sun went down on February 10, 2024 at Lewis Gale Memorial Hospital in Salem, VA following complications from a stroke.

            Born June 1, 1945 at Hinton he was the son of the late Reginald A. Bower Sr. and Ida Mae Beasley Bower.  A veteran of the United States Navy, member of the Hinton Elks Lodge #821 and the Labor Union #453.  Reggie was a timberman, pipeline worker and construction worker.  He was a talented athlete who enjoyed many sports, hunting, fishing, and having a good time.

            Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Scottie E. Bower.

            Those left to cherish his memory include four children, Roger Bower and wife Michele, David Bower and wife Jessica, Rodney Bower and Christin Adkins and husband Brad; four grandchildren, Brittany, Tristan, Hunter and Emma; two brothers, Eddie Bower and Benny Bower and wife Judy; two sisters, Peggy Roberson and husband Tex and Debbie Martin and husband Calvin; special niece, Angie Martin and fiancé Junior.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.

            Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Roles Chapel Church Cemetery at Forest Hill.  Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.

            Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

            Carter Bonds, Ralph Romanello Sr., Pete Lowry, Chester Rudisill, Lin Goins and Melvin Grimmett will serve as honorary pallbearers.
