Raymond McKinley Blevins

            Raymond McKinley Blevins, 87, of Clayton went home to be with the Lord September 6, 2023 at Peyton Hospice House following a short illness.

            Born November 9, 1935 at Beeson, WV he was the son of the late Charlie and Bessie Surface Blevins.  Raymond served his country in the United States Army and later worked in Security at the Radford Arsenal.  He was an avid fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, loved gardening, hunting, taking care of his animals and spending time with his family and friends.

            Preceded in death by his wife, Avalon Blevins; two sons, James and Gary Blevins and several brothers and sisters.

            Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Pamela Brumfield and Kimberly Black; five grandchildren, Lori Shepherd, Anita Bland, Erin Boyd, Scott Lawson and Corey Graves; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Faye Craft; his beloved fur babies and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

            Graveside services and burial will be held 11:30 am Thursday September 14, 2023 at the Blevins Family Cemetery at Clayton with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating.  Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel prior to departure for the cemetery.

            Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
