Randy Buckland

Randy W. Buckland, 41, of Leatherwood Rd., Hinton, died Sunday, October 31, 2004 at his home, following an apparent heart attack. Born May 19, 1963 in Summers Co., he was a son of Mrs. Virginia Cox Buckland of Hilldale and the late Orval Buckland. Randy was of the Baptist Faith, he was a Counselor at the Federal Prison Camp at Alderson, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, a former employee of the Summers Co. Jail, a former member of the WV National Guard Unit at Hinton, and a former member of the Hinton Fire Department. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Buckland. Survived by his wife of 22 years, Cathy Kalenchic Buckland, one son, Danny Buckland at home and two daughters, Leanna Buckland at home and Melissa Buckland of Columbus, OH; five sisters, Karen Cales and husband Jack of Hilldale, Sue Scott and husband John of Beckley, Barbara Boggs of Summersville, Shirley and Donna Mae Morgan both of Illinois; two brothers, Mike Buckland and wife Cindy of Louisville, KY and Tommy Buckland of Hinton; mother-in-law, Betty Lilly of Pipestem; two sisters-in-law, Terri Cox and husband Charlie of Mocksville, NC and Brenda Garcia and husband Joe of Hinton; several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery on Powley?s Creek near Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6-9 P.M. Thursday. Pallbearers: Chris Stennett, Tommy Harvey, Gary Bremmer, John Richmond, Keith Buckland and Dallas Crook.
