Pecolia E. Carter, 90, of Hinton went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Born August 3, 1928 at Chesterfield, SC she was a daughter of the late Frank and Les Diggs Patterson.
Pecolia was a homemaker of the Baptist Faith. She attended Camon Baptist Church. Pecolia was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed watching westerns on television.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Carter; son, Eugene Ford; granddaughters, Stephanie Ford and Keleisha Ford; three brothers, T.C. Patterson, Dan Patterson and Bert Patterson and one sister, Dorothy Hooper.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Maxine Williamson of Bluefield; one son Charles Ford of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren, Jemar Ford and wife Michaela, Autumn Ford, Lamont Ford, Javon Williamson Sr. and wife Chandra, Shaun Ford and wife Latoya and Brittany Ford; a host of great grandchildren whom she loved dearly; two sisters, Mae Robinson of Montgomery and Margaret Sayles of Charleston; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Cheylon Keene of Columbus, OH and Timmy Dowell of Bluefield and many special friends at the Hinton House Apartments especially Douglas Jackson.
A Celebration of life will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Minister Shaun Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Haven Memorial Park at Montgomery. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
