Patricia Anne Brookman Woodrum, 84, of Hilldale, West Virginia, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born on August 6, 1940, in Peterstown, she was the daughter of the late George Brookman and Wanda Gertrude Thomas Brookman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Woodrum; her son, Jerry C. “Gary” Brookman; her brothers, Harold Brookman, Kenneth Brookman, Ronald Brookman, and Donald Brookman; and her sisters, Clara Bryson, Francis Adkins, Virginia Canterbury, and Linda Smith.
Pat was a woman of quiet faith; her Bible often found beside her recliner—a simple but enduring testament to her beliefs. As a longtime independent Avon sales representative and an operator of several home-based small businesses, she maintained a livelihood that allowed her to stay close to home and care for her son, Gary. Her devotion to family was steady and unwavering.
She was also widely known for her love of animals, especially cats. Over the years, she cared for hundreds, offering them shelter and affection in her home.
Her sister-in-law, Lena Brookman of Hilldale, survives her, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
Per her wishes, her body will be cremated. She requested no funeral service, preferring instead to be remembered quietly, in the place she called home. Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
