Orville C. "Sonny" Reed Jr., 63, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Bowers Hospice surrounded by his loving family following a battle with cancer.
Born July 12, 1954 in Hinton he was the son of the late Orville and Mattie Pack Reed.
Sonny enjoyed listening to music, making jokes, watching television and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Shelvadean Memmott.
Those left to cherish his memory include four daughters, Angela N. Slay of MacArthur, Cherish Crook and companion Robert Boone of Hinton, Ashley "Chloe" Reed of Lewisburg and JoAnna Willis and husband Jeremy of Rainelle; nine grandchildren, Shaylan Anderson, Bella Slay, Sofia Slay, Kaydyn Reed, Kase Crook, Zeriah Reed, Desirae Pearce, Ryleigh Willis and one expected grandson; two sisters, Emmalee Downing and husband Les of Columbus, OH and Rosemary Dancy and husband Larry of Fincastle, VA and his loving nephews, nieces and cousins.
Memorial services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor Don Hannah officiating. Gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until time of services Thursday at the funeral parlors.
