Nina Lee Cales, 65, of Pence Springs entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

Born August 31, 1961 in Greenbrier County, WV she was a daughter of the late George Walton and Emize Scott Walton.

Nina was a homemaker who loved animals, watching crime documentaries, sunrises, sunsets, and all varieties of music. She was a wonderful mother and will be deeply missed.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cales; three brothers, Justin, Gene and Joe Walton and five sisters, Wanda Macy, Betty Cales, Ruth Cayton, Mamie Definbaugh and Mary Harvey.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Amanda Cales; a cousin, Priscilla McGraw and family; a friend she loved as a daughter, Grace Lucero; three special friends, Tara Attaway, Jamie Matchett and Jacy Box and several brothers and sisters.

At the request of the family there will be no services and cremation has been entrusted to the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton. Donations of sympathy may be made to one’s local animal shelter or you may plant a tree in memory of Nina.
