Nicholas Leon Bennett, 72, of Pence Springs formerly of Cleveland, OH went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 4, 2026 at White Sulphur Springs Center following a long illness.

Born March 14, 1954 in Beckley, he was a son of the late Edward Henry and Mildred Maxine Cales Bennett.

Nicholas attended Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Ohio. He loved westerns, Dolly Parton, writing letters, buying gifts for others, fishing and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Bennett and one uncle, Vernon Dale Cales, who was reared in the household as a brother.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sisters, Rhonda Richmond, Anna Jewell Rohn and husband Douglas and Laura Bennett; two brothers, Wayne Bennett and wife Charlene and Neil Bennett and wife Dreama; one sister in law, Fusako Bennett; one uncle, Buford Cales and wife Virginia; one aunt, Ann Cales and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Tempa Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery at Hix. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
