Nancy C. Chewning, 73, of Alderson went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center following a long illness.
Born July 17, 1946 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late Russell and Sylvia Graham Adkins.
Nancy was a homemaker and caretaker who enjoyed yard sales and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Chewning; son, Markie Richardson and siblings, Glenn Adkins, Barbara Smith, Wilma Byrd, Roger Adkins, Charles Adkins, Steven (Turkey) Adkins and Timothy Adkins.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert Richardson and wife Regina of Alderson, Marsha Roark and husband Bill of Lewisburg and Michele Merrill and husband Adam of Talcott; grandchildren, Ashley Hungerman and husband Joe, Robbie Richardson and wife Heather, Brad Richardson and wife Chelsea, Brittany Lilly and husband Anthony, Tiffany Godby and husband Franklin, Erica Merrill and Shawn Merrill; great grandchildren, Jacob Cook, J.D. Cook, Bricen Richardson, Tucker Richardson, Kanen Richardson and Rachel Lilly; brother, Phillip (Pippy) Adkins and wife Brenda and kids; sister in law, Cindy Adkins and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Chewning Family Cemetery at Tug Creek. Friends may call from 12:30 until time of services on Sunday at the funeral parlors. Family will serve as pallbearers.
