Nancy Sue ?Susie? Adkins Brooks, 49, of Julian, died Friday, September 17, 2004 at the CAMC Women?s and Children?s Hospital in Charleston, following a long illness. Born February 14, 1955 at Hinton, she was a daughter of Estell and Betty Forren Adkins of Big Creek, and had lived the early part of her life in Summers Co. Susie was a truck driver in the Coal Industry and a member of the Julian United Methodist Church at Julian. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Adkins. Besides her parents, she is survived by two sons, Mark and Tim Dusty Brooks, both of Julian, four sisters; Brenda Gwinn and husband Butch, Mary Wheeler and Sheila Richmond and husband Jason all of Hinton Sharon Terry of Alderson and one granddaughter, Jeplyn Dawn Osbourne-White-Brooks of Julian. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Eddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery on Powley?s Creek. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-8 P.M. Sunday.
