Nancy Bostic

April 25, 1928 — March 8, 2021

Nancy Lee Eades Bostic, 92, of Missouri City, Texas formerly of Talcott went home to be with the Lord, Monday March 8, 2021 following a long illness.

Born April 25, 1928 at Talcott she was the youngest daughter of the late U.G. and Annie E. McCormack Eades.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Ross Bostic; a son, Norman W. Bostic; a brother, George Richard Eades and a sister, Irene Eades Youmanns.

Nancy loved sports and played basketball for Talcott High School where she also excelled in academics and was the valedictorian of the Class of 1946.  She was a lifelong member of the Rollynsburg Baptist Church in Talcott where she and Bernard married in 1946.  They eventually moved to South Charleston to raise their family and at age 36 she began working part time at a department store that was later taken over by A&P where she became the head cashier.  Nancy later went to work for Union Carbide in South Charleston in the accounting department for 14 years until her retirement in 1988.  Following retirement Bernard and Nancy moved back to Talcott.  She had many hobbies which included knitting, crocheting, quilting and cooking.  Her greatest love was working outside in her immaculate flower gardens.  She worked diligently each year canning vegetables Bernard raised in the garden, and was also involved with volunteering at the Graham House and a member of the Ballengee Farm Club.  Bernard and Nancy were also honored to have been chosen as the grand marshals of the John Henry Days Parade in 2012.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Patty Lowers and husband Larry; grandson, Jeremy S. Bostic and great granddaughter, Bridgett Bostic all of Missouri City, Texas; granddaughter, Brynne Smiley and husband Jim of Houston, Texas; and a niece, Becky Eades Hess and husband Ted of Wheeling, WV.

Funeral services will be 1:00 Wednesday March 17, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery with Mike Tabor conducting graveside rites.  Friends may call from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral parlors.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Special thanks to Samantha Rodriguez and Angie Perales for their care given during these last few months.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of sympathy be made to the Rollynsburg Baptist Church at P.O. Box 36 Talcott, WV 24981.
