Mona Gay Wills Richmond

      Mona Gay Wills Richmond, 82, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.

      Born April 3, 1941, at Hinton, she was a daughter of the late Silas Beldon and Lorene Petrey Wills.

      Mona was a former employee of Summers County Council on Aging as a home caregiver. She enjoyed taking care of her animals, flowers, cooking, reading her Bible and spending time with family and friends.

      Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Hopi” Dean Richmond; one son, Harold E. Richmond; one grandson, Jerry Dean Richmond; three sisters, Katherine Adkins, Imogene Hutchinson and Ilene Cole and one half sister, June Ann Meadows.

      Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Linda Bennett and husband Mike; four grandchildren, Sheri Bennett Houchins and husband Ben, Lyndsey Diederich and husband Matt, A.J. Bennett and wife Indy, Harold E. Richmond Jr. and wife Brianna; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Dillon; special sister-in-law Flora Mae Richmond and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

      Private graveside services and burial were held 12:00 P.M. Monday, February 19, 2024, at the O’Bryan Cemetery at Hix with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
