Obituary

Mildred Maxine Cales Bennett, 95, of Riverside Rest went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at the home of her daughter following a long illness.

Born September 17, 1930 in Ramp she was a daughter of the late James Lacy and Euna Alice Richmond Cales.

Mildred was a homemaker and a devoted Christian. She was a member and treasurer of Westside Gospel Tabernacle in Cleveland where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, gardening, arranging flowers and hunting with her husband.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Henry Bennett; one son, Warren Douglas Bennett; three brothers, Vernon Dale Cales, Ernest Golden Cales and Nilon Hunter Cales; one sister, Barbara Ann Patterson and one grandson, Wayne Boyd Bennett Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include six children, Nicholas Leon Bennett, Rhonda Richmond, Anna Jewell Rohn and husband Douglas, Wayne Boyd Bennett Sr. and wife Charlene, Neil Shelton Bennett and wife Dreama and Laura Gail Bennett; daughter in law, Fusako Bennett; seventeen grandchildren, Jennifer Hanna, Eric Richmond, Jeffrey (Anita) Richmond, Dr. Amanda Rohn (Tim Lee), Audra (Steve) Bailey, Ellen (Robert) Trautner, Emma (Jason) Torrence, Justin Bennett, Travis (Brenda) Bennett, Jeremy Edward Bennett, Melissa Dawn (Kyle) Bronowski, Tarah (James) Tincher, Curtis Bennett, Samantha Ashford, Britni (Matt) LaFord, Chelsey (Thomas) Skalecki and Raina Bennett; thirty six great grandchildren, Rick, Noah, Amelia, Eric Jr., Zachary, Kaden, Jamison, Evan, Alice, Arthur, Fiona, Daisy, Ruby, Benjamin, Chase, Corrine, Cayla, Travis Jr., Jeremy Jr., Lucas, Grayson, Paetyn, Avery, Wyatt, Isaiah, Braydon, Nasira, Lyric, Isabella, Tristan, Lilyana, Haylee, Morgan, Lincoln, Maya and Jax; eight great great grandchildren, Izabella Pearl, Ian, Ivey, Isaac, Jace, Kaiser, Kohl and Kora; one brother, James Buford Cales and wife Virginia; one sister in law, Ann Cales and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Tempa Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery at Hix. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
