Melissa LaDawn Cox Lusk

      Melissa LaDawn Cox Lusk, 41, of Shady Spring went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 following a long illness. 

      Born October 23, 1982 at Beckley, she was a daughter of Trina Lewis Cox of Athens and the late Thomas David Cox Sr. 

      Melissa was a former hotel registration clerk who was very creative, loved writing, dancing, the river, nature, and her children with all her heart. 

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dolan Lusk.

       Besides her mother those left to cherish her memory include her children, Christopher D. Lusk, Robert T. Lusk, Elexis N. Lusk and fiancé Jayden Gieseking; one granddaughter, Nyla Lusk and one expected granddaughter on the way; two brothers, Thomas D. Cox Jr. and Jonathan Cox.

      Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 Saturday August 31, 2024 at the Tom Lilly Cemetery at Ghent with Pastor Junior Moye officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery from 10:30 until time of services on Saturday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
