Matthew Wayne Cole, 30, of Hix passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 following injuries received from a residential house fire.
Born June 27, 1984 at Summers County he was a son of Jacqueline Jane "Jackie" Ward Cole of Hinton and the late Teddy Wayne Cole.
Matthew was a former employee of Pit Row on the Hinton By Pass, Deeds Dairy Farm, Pipestem State Park and Cole Nurseries. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, watching sports, fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Andrew Basil and Ruby Marie Cole and maternal grandfather, Harry Harmon "Pud" Ward.
Besides his mother his is survived by one sister, Alicia Dawn Parker and husband Jerry of Huntington; maternal grandmother, Mary Ethel Ward of Hix; two nephews, Jayden Parker and Jordan Parker and several aunts and uncles who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Terry Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow in the Friend Ward Cemetery at Ward Bench. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
