Mary Ivolene Ward Bowles

     Mary Ivolene Ward Bowles, 92, of Keeney Mountain Road passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 being full of years and many blessings of God’s mercy. She was of the Holiness faith. She loved to read her Bible, can, and raise her chickens.

     Born July 13, 1931 at Hix, she was a daughter of the late Ulysses Dock and Lilly Berry Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Bowles; two sons, Billy Bea Bowles and Bobby Lewis Bowles; infant daughter, Mae Dell Bowles; eight brothers, and five sisters.

     Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Joyce Bowles Richmond (Delmar) of Kernersville, NC and Bonnie Bell Cales of Chestnut Mountain; son, Basil Bowles (Joyce) of Chestnut Mountain; grandchildren, Becky Richmond, Eddie Bowles, Steven Cales, Lisa Bowles and David Richmond, and sister, Elevie Collier of PA.

     At her request, a private service will be held. Special thanks to the Raleigh Center Nursing Home.
