Mary Tolliver

Mary E. Underwood Tolliver, 90, of Jumping Branch, died Tuesday, July 06, 2004 at the Summers Co. Continuous Care Center at Hilldale, following a long illness. Born April 2, 1914 at Garden Ground in Fayette Co., she was a daughter of the late Rufus R. and Estie Wright Underwood. Mrs. Tolliver was a homemaker and a member of the Mary Jane United Methodist Church at Streeter. Preceded in death by her husband, Naaman E. Tolliver, two sisters; Edith Vest and Connie Sluss, six brothers; Osban, Arnett, Daniel, Jackson, Herbert and Charlie Underwood. Survived by two daughters, Martha Pack and husband Delso and Ruth Pack and husband Jimmy all of Jumping Branch, two stepdaughters; Eleanor Boykin of Creedmore, NC and Lucy Landers and husband Jack of Durham, NC, one stepson, whom she reared, S. Enoch Tolliver and wife Betty of Bardstown, KY, four grandchildren; Sherry Whittaker and husband James of True, Dale Pack and wife Jennifer of Cool Ridge, Rebecca Pack and Matthew Pack of Jumping Branch, seven step-grandchildren, Stephen Landers of Texas, Terri and Jack Boykin both of NC, Scott, Sarah and Lisa Tolliver of KY, and Julie Clay and husband J. B. of NC,three great-grandchildren ;Cameron and Audrie Pack of Cool Ridge and Autumn Whittaker of True, six step-great grandchildren; Elizabeth Clay, Raven, Hunter, and Michelle Boykin all of NC and Daniel and Sophia Landers of TX, one sister, Georgie Lowe of Jumping Branch, and three brothers; Howard ?Bill? and Rolland Underwood of Jumping Branch and Benjamin ?Benny? Underwood of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle with Pastor Elmo Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Cemetery at Mt. View. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Church. Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers family request that donations be made to Altzheimer?s Foundation.
