Mary Salisbury

July 14, 1916 — November 25, 2014

Mary Agnes Cooper Salisbury, 98, of Hampton, VA died in peace on November 25, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Edith Kay Enoch. Mary had lived in Lewisburg, WV and Roanoke, VA for many years prior.
She was born July 14, 1916, in Quinnimont, WV to John (Shorty) and Rebecca Thomas Cooper. She grew up in Hinton, WV where she married Charles Wesley Salisbury in 1933. Mary had a long and productive life as wife, mother and homemaker and she was a founding member of and active in Calvary Baptist Church at Lewisburg, WV. She served many years as pianist and Sunday School teacher at Calvary. She was a good and supportive Christian woman to her family and friends.
Besides her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Edith Christine Shumate of Hinton, WV.
She is survived by her children, Mary Joan Simms and Husband Robert Lee of Myrtle Beach, SC; Glenn (Ned) Salisbury and Companion Vincent Cheong of Palm Harbor, FL; and Edith Kay Enoch and Husband Richard Allen of Hampton, VA. She is also survived by several nephews and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren composing a large family.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. Friends and family may call from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park.
