Mary Elizabeth Rutledge

     Mary Elizabeth Rutledge, 90, of Buck went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Lindside Healthcare Center following a long illness.

     Born February 3, 1933 at Sandstone she was a daughter of the late Hiram and Almina Taylor Ballengee.

     Mary was an avid gardener.  She had a strong belief and faith in God. Mary enjoyed traveling and camping.

     She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Thomas Rutledge; three brothers, Samuel Eugene Ballengee, James Hiram Ballengee and Junior McDonnie and two sisters, June Saphin and Mary Brooks.

      Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Patricia Higginbotham and husband Will and Mary Brazis; two sons, Samuel Preston Harrell and Sheila and Thomas Rayburn Harrell and wife Tamela; eight grandchildren and one sister, Barbara Rakes.

     Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Huffman Cemetery at Buck. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers will be Timothy Ballengee, Thomas Brooks, Thomas Harrell, Jarrod Higginbotham, Samuel Harrell and David Bryant.
