Mary Ethel Ward

Mary Ethel Ward, 89, of Chestnut Mountain went home to be with the Lord, Friday, February 28, 2025 at her home following a long illness.

 Born March 13, 1935 in Ramp she was a daughter of the late Albert Adkins and Elva Martin Adkins Smith.

 Mary was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

 Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. “Pud” Ward; three infant children; two grandsons, Matthew Wayne Cole and Michael Keith Jennings; one brother, Johnny Adkins and one sister, Sarah Gill.

 Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Susie Jennings and Jackie Cole; two sons, Andy Ward and wife Susan and Doug Ward; six grandchildren, Steven, Amanda, Brittany, Alicia, Abigail and Elijah; five great grandchildren, Bethany, Amy Sue, Emmy, Jayden and Jordan; one brother, Carlos Adkins and one sister, Charlotte Yoney.

 Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Benny Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Friend Ward Cemetery on Ward Bench. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
