Marquetta Jo Downard

     Marquetta Jo Downard, 77, of Princeton went home to be with the Lord June 17, 2022 at Stonerise Lindside following a long illness.

     Born March 19, 1945 at Pineville she was a daughter of the late James and Mildred Steele Starrett.

     Marquetta was a cosmetologist.  She taught Cosmetology at the Little French Beauty Academy in Bluefield.  She enjoyed caring for her beloved miniature schnauzer and spending time with her family.

     Marquetta was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Downard; three brothers, Donald E. Downard, Roger Downard and Gene Downard and one sister Patricia Mabes.

     Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Jeremy Downard and companion Amy Armentrout and Jason Downard; three grandchildren, Colleen, Gwendolyn and Sara; one great granddaughter, Gracelyn; one sister, Carol Barrett and one nephew, Jeff Barrett.

     At her request there will be no services and her body has been cremated.
