Marilyn Elaine Holdren Cooper

     Marilyn Elaine Holdren Cooper, 79, of Marie went home to be with the Lord Tuesday January 2, 2024 at her home following a long illness.

     Born February 22, 1944 at Sprague she was the daughter of the late Charles Russell and Margaret Alice Stroud Holdren Baker.  Marilyn was a member of Fairview Baptist Church at Forest Hill and retired from Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital where she worked as activities coordinator.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Lee Carr Wyrick; one brother, Charles Holdren and one sister, Linda Holdren.

     Survived by her husband of 58 years Roy Cooper of Marie; one son, Christopher E. Cooper and wife Paula of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren, Brian Davis of Rock Hill, SC, Megan Elaine Travis of Sumter, SC, Robert Grey Wyrick of Burlington, NC and Kayla Cooper of Raleigh, NC; two great grandchildren, Flynn and Scottie; one brother, Rusty Holdren of Raleigh Co.; and special friends, Carol Butler, Joyce Waltman, Vera Epling, and Carolyn Greenlief.

     Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday January 5, 2024 at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastors Jack Cobb, Charlie Drake, and Andrew Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Marie.  Friends may call from 11:30 am until time of services on Friday at the church.

    Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
