Lloyd Ward of Sandstone passed from this life into the loving hands of God Friday, July 10, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.
Born October 1, 1937 he was the eleventh of twelve children given to Felisha Arvela Berry Ward and Matthew Ward of Sandstone. Lloyd was a farmer, of the holiness faith who loved playing his guitars, gardening and spending time with neighbors, friends and family. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Gladys Flinchum of Christiansburg, VA and Felisha Mae Hamm of Parma Heights, OH; one brother, Jimmy Ward and wife Sue of Pipestem; a great host of nieces and nephews which includes a very special niece Cookie Richmond of Sandstone and very special friends, William and Vernie Gale Ward of Hix.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Benny Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Bragg Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time on Monday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
