Lloyd Hicks

November 14, 1941 — July 9, 2017

Lloyd Franklin Hicks, 75, of Hix went home to be with the Lord, Sunday July 9, 2017 at CAMC Memorial Division following a short illness.
Born November 14, 1941 at Hinton he was the son of the late Luther and Maudie Gill Hicks. A member of Freedom Baptist Church he was a former carpenter, and mechanic. Lloyd enjoyed bluegrass gospel, music, cookouts, playing bingo at the senior center and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Hicks, three brothers, Jesse, Gene and Denver Hicks and two sisters, Elizabeth Hicks and Mary Bragg.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Eric Hicks at home, two sisters, Ethel Dicus of Florence, KY and Darlene "Ruth" Fleshman of Green Sulphur, one brother, Darrell Hicks and wife Janet of Whitehall, OH, four sister-in-law, Jerolee Cales, Arnell Seldomridge, Cindy Spangler and Wilma Gardisky; one brother-in-law, Howard "Junior" Adkins, special friends, JoAnn and Jimmy Richmond, Wanda and James Sears, Jackie and Ruth Gill, Ryan and Freda Plumley and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday July 12, 2017 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor John F. Offenberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
Jack Cales, Jim Gross, Dayton Lowry, Jerry Grimmett, Rocky Romanello and Jackie Gill will serve as pallbearers.
