Linda K. Boone

      Linda K. Boone, 76, of Clayton peacefully went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 21, 2024, following a long illness. 

      Born June 8, 1947, in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Nadine Sherwood Carter. 

      Linda was a member of the Tempa Baptist Church.  She was a former seamstress, a cook at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and a store clerk at Country Roads Store and Lowell Market. Linda loved cooking, baking, growing flowers and birdwatching (especially hummingbirds).

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellison Perry “Bubby” Boone; daughter in law, Beth Keaton and a nephew, Ricky Southall.

      Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Jack Keaton; one daughter, Tamera Shackleford; eight grandchildren, Andrew Boehm, Jacquelyn Keaton, Lauren Keaton, Sydney Keaton, Jackson Keaton, Hannah Persaud, Amanda Arnold and Kaiden Gonzalez; five great grand, Ariana Arnold, Jessie Boehm, Benjamin Boehm, Gabriel Boehm and Jaxton Lee; one sister, Judy Southall and several nieces and nephews.

      Per Linda’s request her body has been entrusted to Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and Cremation Care Center for cremation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
