Linda Gail Bolling Lilly

      Linda Gail Bolling Lilly, 77, of New Bern, NC formerly of Nimitz, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 25, 2023. 

      Born January 13, 1946 in Hinton she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Opal Hogan Bolling.

     Linda had her Cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser. She also worked in data entry and at Sears in shipping and distribution. Linda was a caregiver to her mother-in-law, a homemaker and a loving mother.

     Linda was of the Christian faith and a member of Bluestone Baptist Church. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

     Linda was preceded in death by sisters, Frankie Willey, Nancy Shrader and Patty Lindsay.    

     She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jay Lilly of New Bern, NC; daughter, Susan Lilly and husband Scott of New Bern, NC; sisters, Topsy Stennett of Hinton, Valeria O’Neal of Beckley; brother, Gilbert Bolling of Lerona; step grandchildren, Dustin Lilly of Beaufort, NC, Taylor Lilly-Psillos of Grovetown, GA; grandcat, Charlie D. Lilly and many nieces and nephews.

     A private family graveside service was held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Lilly-Crews Cemetery with Pastor Bill Fox officiating.
