Lillie Estelle Oakes Thompson

Lillie Estelle Okes Thompson, 85, of Nimitz went home to be with the Lord, Friday November 14, 2025, at her home following a long illness.

Born November 10, 1940, at Dunns in a log cabin, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Nancy E. Wills Okes. A member of the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church who enjoyed cooking and was famous for her banana pudding. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Hedrick; her second husband, William M. Thompson and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, John Hedrick and wife OkKyong and Jerry Hedrick; five grandchildren, Donovan, Chung, ChuAhng, Zain and Gideon; three great grandchildren, Moriah, Felicity and Atlas; two sisters, Pansy Ellison and husband Tudy and Lula B. Okes.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday November 22, 2025 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Gary Trout and Kevin Cormican officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services Saturday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
