Lila Ann Cook, age 87, of Green Springs, OH, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Majestic Care of Clyde, OH. Lila was born August 8, 1938 in Meadowview, VA, the daughter of the late Bruce and Hattie (Galliher) Cullop.
Lila was a strong Christian woman whose faith was the true cornerstone of her life. She was a member of the Damascus Road Baptist Church in Damascus, VA, and the Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church in Bellevue, OH. She carried the values she learned at church with her throughout her life, guiding her words, her actions, and the love she showed to others. Her relationship with the Lord was steady and unwavering, and she found comfort and strength in prayer and fellowship.
Outside of church, Lila found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking for her family and friends, filling her home with the warmth of good food and laughter. She could often be found dancing or listening to bluegrass music, her spirit lifted by the lively melodies she adored. Lila also enjoyed playing bingo and spending weekends searching for hidden treasures at garage sales. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she loved; leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and joyful living that will be remembered always.
Lila is survived by her sons: David Cook of Green Springs, OH and Jack (Shonda) Cook of Clyde, OH; grandsons: Jake (Maddy), Michael, Jackson, and Carter Cook; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Cook; and brother Eddie (Jackie) Cullop of Abingdon, VA.
In addition to her parents, Lila is preceded in death by her husband, Ashby Benny Cook, brothers: Bud, Bob, Rich, Gary, and Mike Cullop, and sister, Helen Gilbert.
Graveside service and burial will be 1:30 PM Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Lilly–Crews Cemetery in Nimitz with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 1:00 PM Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton. Pallbearers will be Douglas Cullop, Joshua Cullop, Jacob Cook, Jackson Cook, Carter Cook, and Brian Cullop. Honorary Pallbearers will be Derek Cullop, Kennie Cook, and Kevin Cook.
