Leon D. Amos, 69, of Hinton formerly of Arizona went home to be with Jesus Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home following a long illness.
Born August 22, 1956, in Casa Grande, Arizona he was a son of the late Alvie T. and Dorothy O. McDaniel Amos.
Leon was a machinist and a hard rock miner. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Assembly of God Church in Arizona. Leon loved fishing, horses, four wheeling and guns.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Whittman; one grandson, Andy Michael Flores; one brother, Ron Amos and one sister, Reba Campbell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Mary Amos; five children, Julia Flores and husband Harold, Jason Amos and wife Theresa, John Amos, James Amos and wife Kelly and Gabriel Bautista and wife Jeanette; son in law, Allen Whittman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and one sister; Lavell Clawsen.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor John Mullens officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until time of services Wednesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
