Lawrence Lowell Young

Lawrence Lowell Young, 66, of White Oak went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 24, 2025.

Born November 2, 1959 in Ohio he was a son of the late Lowell and Lorine Bell Young. He was also preceded in death by a brother Detzel Young. He was a loving and caring father, brother, husband, and friend.

Larry as many of his close friends and family knew him was a very kindhearted, selfless person. He was always willing to help anyone. Larry was a special man who everyone enjoyed to be around. He was a jack of all trades who had knowledge about everything and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and working on things. Larry worked around the mining industry with Affinty Coal Company being the most recent. Larry also served in the Army. He will truly be missed by everyone.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years Julie; two daughters, Amanda Gardner and boyfriend Jack, Samantha Smith and husband Brandon; five sisters, Darlene Hodges and husband Rick, Charlene Young, Arlene Stewart and husband Mark, Ann Griffith and husband Steve, Belinda Sears and husband Mike; two amazing grandsons, Remington and Wyatt Smith; one sister in law, Beth Browning and husband David; one brother in law, Matthew Pack and wife Jessica, and many nephews, nieces, and so many cherished friends.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2025 with David Browning officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of services Saturday at the funeral parlors. At Larry’s request following the services his body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the funeral parlors at PO Box 760 Hinton, WV 25951 to help the family with funeral expenses.
