Lawrence E. ?Tex? Samuel, 71, of Lick Creek Road, Pipestem went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:25 A.M. Saturday, April 02, 2005 at the Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness. Born July 24, 1933 in Fort Worth, Texas he was a son of the late Lawrence E. and Swan Martin Samuel. Tex was an ordained minister of the Full Gospel Ministry, had been instrumental in the Hinton Gospel Jamboree, he had a radio ministry and had served as pastor of the Madam?s Creek Community Church near Hinton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a drywall contractor. Tex was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and loved helping children through these organizations.Tex was a loving and wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa; he will be sadly missed by all. Preceded in death by one grandson; David Chandler II. and his wife Stephanny, and a son-in-law; David Chandler Sr. Left here, but again someday in Heaven to reunite with a loving, caring, and giving wife; Mrs. Carolyn E. Gill Samuel and her children, Susie Cain and husband Brad of Hinton, Shelia Fox and her husband Jerry of Tug Creek Rd. and Sherry Meadows and her friend Ben Bishop of Lick Creek Road, Pipestem. Also survived by his first wife and the mother of his children; Patsy Hosack of Mineral Wells, Texas, two daughters; Marlene Martinez and husband Paul of Dallas, Texas, and Susan Chandler of Mineral Wells, Texas, one son, James Samuel and wife Micki of Grande Parairie, TX, three step-daughters; Donna Aitken, Anna Beth Ince, and Gail Ince all of Texas, four step-sons; Kevin Aitken of Roanoke, Virginia, Jay Aitken, Allen Ince, and Keith Ince all of Texas, seven grandchildren; Casey Chandler, Jason Aitken, Debra Martinez, and Stephanie Martinez all of Texas, Roger Lewis Massey, Samantha Cain, Sally Ann Fox all of Hinton, several great grandchildren, two brothers; Donald Samuel and his wife Jean of Blum, Texas, and Willard Rollins and his wife Gina of Granbery, Texas, two sisters; Ida Crutcher and her husband Wally of Granbery, Texas, and Barbara Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, very special nephew and friend; Wade McClanahan of Red Oak, Texas, and a special friend; Goldie Howerton of 4-H Camp Road, Hinton. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Reverend?s Melvin Wills, Buck Goodwin and Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the funeral parlors. Ray Gill, Doug Gill, Timmy Gill, John Stevenson, Larry Phillips, Aaron Phillips, Carlos Adkins, Milton Boone, Kary ?Bubbie? McBride and Brandon McBride will serve as pallbearers.
Viewing Information: 6:00-9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral parlors.
Funeral Information: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral parlors chapel.
