Julia Mae Ward, 80, of Ramp, after a courageous 6 year fight with cancer, won the final victory when she passed from this earth to her heavenly home on December 26, 2015.
Born July 23, 1935 at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late John Hatcher and Cuba Helen Lowe.
Julia was a member of the Ramp Holiness Church and was very active in all church functions. She was retired from the WV Department of Corrections with 27 years of service. She was a member of the Green Sulphur District Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary. Julia enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Monroe Ward and one brother, Kenneth Meadows.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Patricia McKinney Halsey and husband Jack of Pilot Mt., NC; one granddaughter, Wendy Halsey Moeller and husband Bryan of Charlotte, NC; one great granddaughter, Alexis Ingram Moeller of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Howard Richard Lowe and wife Carol of Kernersville, NC; one sister JoyAnn Bumgardner of Hix, WV; six nephews, Ricky Lee Lowe (Cindie), Ralph Donald McKinney, Roger Dale McKinney, Lloyd Gene McKinney (Aretta), Robert Lee McKinney, David McKinney (Tammy); two nieces, Sonya McKinney Devine (Ron), Joyce McKinney Moore (Newton); great niece and nephew who were like her great grandchildren, Tyler Richard Lowe and Riley Elizabeth Lowe; one special friend, Patty Willey of Ramp; and her beloved cat, Max.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Felix Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from noon until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
