Jonathan Paul Ellison

     Jonathan Paul Ellison, 52, of True, formerly of Nimitz, met his family and friends in heaven Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home following a long battle with cancer.

      Born April 16, 1971 at Beckley, he was an only son  of Regina “Jeannie” Keaton Ellison of Nimitz and the late Benny Paul Ellison.

      Jonathan was a member of Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church. He was a former maintenance technician at Quality Environmental Containers. Jonathan was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed farming, riding his Harley, watching westerns and spending time with family and friends.

      He was preceded in death by a close uncle, Arlie Ellison and a special cousin, Matthew Ellison.

      Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Alisa Young Ellison; three sisters, Lisa Bragg and husband Kirby of Nimitz and their children, Benjamin and Seth, Lois Harvey and husband Terry of Nimitz and their children, Josh and Stacy, and Sherry Foster of Madams Creek; several great nieces and great nephews, Ben, Noah, Addisyn, Isaiah, Eliana, Elijah and Isabella; four stepsons, Bret, Aleks, Ethan and Colton Lane; four step grandchildren, Liam, Kennedy, Elliott and Ella Rae and a special cousin, Mark Ellison.

      Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral parlors. At Jonathan’s request, following the services his body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made in Jonathan’s name to Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church John and Romans or Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
