John Nicholas Harris Jr.

     John Nicholas Harris Jr., 75, of Hinton formerly of Green Island, NY entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.

     Born April 7, 1948 at Troy, NY he was a son of the late John Nicholas Sr. and Delores “Bunny” O’Hare Harris.

     John was United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a former employee of the NY State office of Gen. Services.  John enjoyed horse racing and spending time with his family.

     He was preceded in death by one step daughter, Tonja Hatz and one brother, Frank Harris.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 22 years, Marion A. Harris; children, Kathleen O’Conner and husband Tim, Karen Ratigan and husband Rusty and Kristin Harris and companion Sonny Armstrong ; additional children, Robert Hatz and wife Azza, Jo Anne Rootes and husband Ron, John Nazarian and wife Sharon and Harry Cohn and wife Meredith; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Linda Krause and husband Joe, Marion Harris, Deloris Robinson and husband Trent, Harold Harris and wife Joanie, Bobby Harris, Maggie Perrott, Dottie Stone and husband Don, Patty King-Krutha, Denise Mills                and husband Duane,  Jan Stebbins and husband Norman and Chuck Harris and companion Mary Jane and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

     A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday May 13, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hinton, WV with Rev. Isaiah Kim officiating.  Friends may call from 1:00 pm until service time at the Church.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday June 4, 2023 at the Guilderland Fire Department in Guilderland, New York.
