JoAnn Lilly Ellison

JoAnn Lilly Ellison, 83, of Hopewell, VA passed away peacefully at her residence on August 10, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. Born and raised in Ellison, WV to the late Lonza and Ivory Lilly.

She worked for Dominion Energy for 28 years. JoAnn loved to teach Sunday School and to sew.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Macie Lilly Meador and Deborah Lilly Ross.

Survived by her husband of 50 years, Harold E. Ellison; three sisters, Lois Holstein, Norma Lilly (Jimmy) and Linda Burgess (Alfred) as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and burial will be held 12:00 pm Saturday August 16, 2025, at Lilly-Cox Cemetery at Ellison with Pastor Wayne Bolen officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
