Jean B. Gore

Jean B. Gore, 87, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Peyton Hospice House following a short illness.

Born July 30, 1938 in Hinton she was a daughter of the late Herbert Brabb and Frances Taylor Brabb Dobbins.

Jean was Valedictorian of the Hinton High School Class of 1956. She attended First Baptist Church of Hinton. She was a member of the Hinton Service Club and a past member of the Delphi Club. Jean retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Alderson as a Business Manager. She was also the former manager of the business department at Summers County Appalachian Regional Healthcare and a former member of the Summers County Board of Education. Jean loved her family dearly and enjoyed being on the “go”. She also loved playing Bunco with her “Bunco Babes.”

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Gore; infant son, William Russell Jr.; eight older siblings, Milton, Lois, Bill, Paul, Betty, Earl, Alonzo and Ruth.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Kristi Scott and husband Jack; one son, Jason Gore and wife Melinda; four grandchildren, Russell Scott (Kaylee), Taylor Walters (Ryan), Krystina Gore and Ella Jean Gore; two great grandchildren, August and Koda Scott and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Ronnie Cobb and John Elardo officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral parlors.

Pallbearers: Russell Scott, Ryan Walters, Jack Scott, Tim Hoover, Mike Toler, Greg Vandall and Darrell Brabb.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Gore, Don Dewitt, David Dewitt, Gary McClure and Randy Rhodes.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations of sympathy be made in Jean’s memory to the Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Ave., Lewisburg, WV 24901.
